Blending tradition and experiment: Lenhart Tapes awarded for musical innovation

We are thrilled to announce that Vladimir Lenhart, the creative force behind Lenhart Tapes, has been honored with the prestigious “Vojin Mališa Draškoci” award. This accolade was presented during the 12th edition of the Todo Mundo Festival in Belgrade, recognizing Lenhart’s unique contributions to the music scene.

In his acceptance speech, Lenhart humorously remarked, “My music is worthless, and you shouldn’t listen to it. Play it when you’re drunk and want to clear people from a party.” He expressed gratitude to his collaborators, emphasizing that without the contributions of vocalists like Tijana Stanković, Svetlana Spajić, Zoja Borovčanin and Mirjana Raić, his project might have remained in the underground scene.

Following the award ceremony, Lenhart and Tijana Stanković delivered a captivating performance, blending traditional sounds with experimental rhythms, showcasing the innovative spirit that defines Lenhart Tapes.

This recognition highlights Lenhart’s distinctive approach to music, where he masterfully fuses elements of noise, folk, and world music, creating a soundscape that is both avant-garde and deeply rooted in tradition.
